A Step Closer to Big Boyhood

Well my bloggy friends, I am officially {almost!} a big boy! My mama and daddy turned my baby crib into a toddler bed. I can now come and go as I please. If I wanna go night-night I can. Whenever I wanna.

And if I wanna get my binkies... I can! However, mama and daddy take them away and hide them. Then we can't find them when I do go night-night. With big boyhood comes responsibility, I guess.

I've gone night-night for one whole night and one nap, and haven't fallen out of bed yet! Go me!!

Next up for big boyhood... potty training!

More Easter Happies!

Yesterday was Easter, and we had fun searching for eggs (a.k.a. not very roundy or bouncy balls). But there weren't any presents! Can you believe that the Easter Bunny would come and not bring presents?!?!

Well, apparently s/he remembered because my present came with the mail carrier today. Guess what it was! I'll give you a hint:

Did you guess?

Were you right?

If you guessed that it's a new tricycle for me, you were right! My feet are about an inch from the pedals, but I can still honk the horn. The {awesome} horn!!

Happy Easter!!

For Easter this year, some bunny decided to hide colored balls all around my patio. I later found out it was the aptly named Easter Bunny, and the balls actually are eggs. Eggs that do not bounce like balls.

The colored eggs were actually decorated by mama who decided to help out the Easter Bunny. I guess he's a busy fella. Using an idea from Martha Stewart, she colored them with old ties. And you know what that means: THRIFT STORE SHOPPING!! That's right, we got to go thrift store shopping. But that's a story for another day.

As you may remember, today we're talking about colored eggs that were hidden on my patio. Which it was up to me to find. And which I did find. Which makes me practically a super hero.

However, even though I rescued all of them, they must have been bad eggs because I had to DESTROY them! I threw them. And I smooshed them. And I dumped them out of my bucket.

Buh-bye eggs! The world is a safe place again, thanks to me.

Happy April Fool's Day!!

Here's a fun April Fool's Day dinner! We take Shepherd's Pie and make cupcakes instead!!

{Shepherd's Cupcakes}
4 medium potatoes
2 tbsp margarine or butter
1/4 c milk
1 medium onion
1 tbsp oil
16 oz beef crumbles/browned ground beef
1 c gravy

First you cut up the potatoes to make mashed potatoes. Mama likes to use an apple cutter 'cause she says it's easier.

Now you put the potato slices in a pot and cover them in water. Boil the water for about 20 minutes. Then drain the water, add margarine {or butter!} and milk, and mash them up.

While the potatoes are boiling, you can chop the onions. Mama uses the apple slicer for that too, then cuts them up nice and small-ish. After your onions are cut up, put them in a pan with oil to saute them.

Once your onions cook and become almost see-through, they are done. Add the beef crumbles or browned ground beef and gravy. Then you get to mix it altogether!!

Now that your meat mixture and mashed potatoes are done, it's time to put them together! Scoop the meat into a cupcake pan {an icecream scoop works great!}, and scoop mashed potatoes on top. To make them more "cupcake like", mama adds food coloring to the potatoes to make them pinkish red.

Now it's time to bake your cupcakes! Bake them at 350 degrees for about 25-30 minutes. After you take them out, you can make them more "cupcake like" by adding salt sprinkles. But be careful not to use too much salt like mama did!! Just use an itty bitty little bit.

To make salt sprinkles, measure 1/8 cup of salt and mix 3-5 drops of food coloring in.

Then spread it on a plate and put it in the microwave for a few minutes until it dries. Once it's done, you can put it on your cupcakes or art projects!!
