Home sick!

Being sick is no fun. Your nose is snotty and you cough a lot. You don't get to go to daycare, and all you have energy to do is sit around and snuggle with mama or daddy. But you do get to wear your comfiest clothes for snuggling, and have your pacifier even though you're a big boy now.

And when you're too sick to eat, mama and daddy get you special treats. I didn't like chicken noodle soup or icecream, but grapes and bread helped me feel better.

Even though it's nice to have mama home from work to snuggle with, I miss my daycare friends. I want to be able to run and play and climb. I even want to be able to sleep.

So I ask all of you, my bloggy friends, what do you do to help you feel better when you're sick?

Splish... Splash!!

I was takin' a bath! It's one of my favorite things to do. I get to play in the water with my boats and the bubbles, and get myself nice and squeaky clean. I even wash behind my ears like a good boy. Hooray for me!!

Pancakes and Fruit... oh my!

I love me some pancakes. However, I'm too little to eat syrup, so we had to find some pancakes that were sweet and moist without it. Bring in mama's Fruity Pancakes. Even daddy and grandpa ate them {withOUT syrup} and loved them!!

We make them with bananas and blueberries. You can use your imagination to make them how you like them!

{Fruity Pancakes}
1 cup wheat flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup honey or agave nectar
1 egg {or egg substitute!}
1 cup milk
1/2 cup yogurt
Your choice of bananas or frozen fruit

Mix together wheat flour, baking soda and baking powder. In another bowl, mix together honey, egg, milk and yogurt. Pour the stuff from the liquid bowl into the flour bowl, and stir everything all together!

Now you have a couple of options...

{Option One}
If you want to make mini banana pancakes, cut up your bananas. {If you're using all of the batter for banana pancakes, it will take about 5-6 bananas}. Take a fork and dip your banana slices in the pancake batter.

Put the banana pancakes on the greased griddle or pan {we use a pan sprayed with olive oil spray}.

Once the little pancakes get bubbly, flip them over.

Let them sit for a few minutes and these ones are all done! {Repeat as necessary}.

{Option Two}
If you want to use frozen fruit, put a handful or two of fruit in your pancake batter. Mix it all up.

Scoop some batter on a greased griddle or pan.

Watch for it to get bubbly and flip it over.

Let them sit for a few minutes and these ones are all done! {Repeat as necessary}.

A door {or two}?

My toys... or toy box?

Daddy's book?

The fish tank?

If you do, let me know {before daddy sees!!}

Hello and Goodbye!!

My grandpa came to visit us again. For over a whole week! Can you believe it?

We had so much fun too. We watched football on tv, we read books, we jumped on his bed {well, I did when he wasn't looking} and he gave me a sled. And I went down a snowy hill on the sled. And it was 18 degrees which is pretty super duper cold. Too cold for a boy to be out sledding, that's for sure.
